Audiobook Review: ‘If We Were Villains’

This is a book that has been on my TBR for…a WHILE and I’ve had the audiobook on hold for quite a while as well. I finally decided at the end of 2021 it was time to read this, and I finished it on January 2nd.

Have I already read one of my favorite books of 2022? Quite possibly. I saw this book on a lot of Best of 2021 lists and with very good reason. I’m so happy this was my first book of 2022!

I’ve been in the mood for a thriller and Kara Thomas never disappoints. I haven’t read all of her works just yet, but after this, I now want to go back and read more of her writing. That Weekend kept me on the edge of my seat and guessing until the very last page! Exactly what I want from a good thriller.

Audiobook Review: ‘Ace of Spades’

Ace of Spades is being marketed as Gossip Girl meets Get Out – and while I haven’t seen either of those, I understand the concept and seeing so many positive reviews for this story, I was intrigued! Unfortunately I’m in the minority and this thriller fell flat for me.

Audiobook Review: ‘Darling’

I’m always interested in Peter Pan retellings, as Peter Pan is one of my favorite stories, so of course I had to pick up Darling! Wendy Darling just moved to Chicago when she finds a boy sneaking in through her window – and Peter Pan invites her out to a party. This is a fast paced contemporary thriller that takes place over just a few intense hours.

Audiobook Review: ‘The Box in the Woods’

Truly Devious is easily one of my all time favorite series, and when I learned there would be ANOTHER BOOK after the trilogy, I was beside myself with excitement! This can technically be read as a standalone, as it is a separate murder mystery from the Truly Devious trilogy – but I would recommend reading that series first as this one assumes you already know all the characters. Please be aware this review will contain spoilers for the Truly Devious trilogy.

Series: Truly Devious #4
