‘Chaos Theory’ by Nic Stone – Audiobook Review

Nic Stone knows how to write a good book, and Chaos Theory is no exception. She doesn’t shy away from the tough topics like mental health and expresses it in a realistic light – if you’ve never read a Nic Stone book, do yourself a favor and pick up any of her many books – they’re all so good.

‘My Mechanical Romance’ by Alexene Farol Follmuth – Audiobook Review

I’ll be honest – the title is what drew me to this book, and the fact it sounds so close to My Chemical Romance, one of my favorite bands – how could I not pick this up?! I only later learned this is written by the author of The Atlas Six (under a penname), which many people rave about – so I knew this had to be good.

I heard this was based on the Twitter choose your own adventure thread she did but as I didn’t follow that, this was all new to me!

This book has been on my TBR for literal years – I actually read Alix E. Harrow’s Fractured Fables series (A Spindle Splintered and A Mirror Mended) first but always wanted to go back to this one. I decided this January, I was going to read it! …I didn’t actually get to this book until February but hey, I finally did it. This book was weird but I think I enjoyed it?

‘Revelle’ by Lyssa Mia Smith – Audiobook Review

If you tell me a story is inspired by Moulin Rouge, I’m immediately interested. Add a magic system and make it a historical fiction with fantasy – I’m sold! I’ve been eagerly anticipating Revelle and it did not disappoint! It sparkled like the jewels used in this story.

She was in conversation with Lauren Blackwood, Rochelle Hassan, and Meg Long. This event was so good, I loved the conversation and learning more about Revelle.

I recommend checking out Revelle as well as the books by the other authors as well!

‘Nine Liars’ by Maureen Johnson – Blog Tour

Thank you to Turn The Page Tours for having me on this blog tour!

My review is now live (although I never received a copy of this book, I listened to an audiobook from my library).

This book is a HarperCollins title. The HarperCollins Union is currently on strike and has been since Nov. 10, 2022, in hopes of living wages. I was scheduled to share a review today, but due to the ongoing Union strike I will be withholding my review until HarperCollins answers those on the picket line. I will revisit this post and update with my review once HarperCollins does something.
