Wrap Up: October 2023

October passed in a blur because I had a trip I have been anticipating for well over a year now – Egypt! I traveling to Egypt from October 7-16. The timing was not great with everything happening over there but I was with a group and I was safe the entire time. It was an incredible experience to visit Egypt and I’m so glad I went!

Yet I still managed to keep busy at home too! I went to the Brooklyn Book Festival on October 1st – it’s held annually and I highly recommend checking it out if you’re local to NYC!

I attended 2 concerts and saw 5 Broadway shows.

I only read 3 books this month and DNF-ed 1, but I think that’s still pretty good considering I didn’t read at all while traveling and then recovering once home.

Broadway Wrap Up: October 2023

I saw 5 Broadway and Off-Broadway shows in October! This is a lot less than my “normal” because I was traveling for 10 days this month, and then trying to recover after that! Where to you ask? Check out my Wrap Up post to find out!

The Great Gatsby at Paper Mill Playhouse in NJ was a real treat to see and I’m so glad I caught this limited run. Only time will tell if the show makes it across the river to Broadway. I also loved Here We Are, Sondheim’s final musical – it was a weird story but I loved the ride.

Wrap Up: September 2023

September was a really great month! I started off the month by driving 5 hours (each way…) up to Syracuse, NY to see my favorite band The Fray play the NY State Fair! That gave me a lot of audiobook listening time LOL.

I also went to Susan Lee’s event at The Ripped Bodice in Brooklyn for The Name Drop! It was so nice to attend an author event~!

I attended 4 concerts and saw 7 Broadway shows. I found a new music obsession with the Italian rock band Måneskin – so if they’re coming to a city near you I highly recommend seeing them.

I read 6 books this month – 3 of them were very short books but hey, it counts! The First Bright Thing is going to be one of my favorites of the year, it was incredible!

Broadway Wrap Up: September 2023

I saw 7 Broadway and Off-Broadway shows in September! This is exactly how many I saw in August so maybe that’s my new normal for a while! I made it a point to see shows I haven’t seen yet this month.

Gutenberg is a new favorite and I can’t wait to go back and see it again! I loved finally seeing a show at The Delacorte Theater in Central Park – and it was my favorite people, Freestyle Love Supreme! And I attended an unexpected Sweeney Todd “concert” when things went a little wrong.

Wrap Up: August 2023

My August was non-stop between concerts, traveling for concerts, and Broadway shows! I barely had time to breath but I was thriving – I love summer concert season!

I attended 6 concerts (…4 of them were Fall Out Boy LOL) and saw 7 Broadway shows. 4 of the concerts I went to were out of New York state so I also had to travel a bit to get to them – but it was all worth it.

I still managed to read read 5 books in August – long drives and audiobooks were my friends this month. It was a really good reading month and I loved everything!

Broadway Wrap Up: August 2023

I saw 7 Broadway shows in August! This is fewer than I’ve been seeing, but I also went to 6 (!!!) concerts, and most of them out of state. It was a busy month, but I still squeezed a few Broadway shows in.

I loved seeing Hadestown 3x this month – unplanned, but when Eva Noblezada’s final show was announced I couldn’t miss that – nor could I miss Solea Pfeiffer’s first show!

I’m also happy I saw my favorite corn show, Shucked again, with a friend who had never seen it before!

Wrap Up: July 2023

Ah July, the month where it’s unbearably hot. I’ll be the first to admit I’m not a fan of summer because of the heat, but I am a fan of outdoor summer concerts! Unfortunately that left little time to read, but I managed to squeeze in a few books this month.

I attended 2 concerts and saw 12 (?!) Broadway shows. I was busy every single weekend!

I only read 3 books this month & DNF-ed 1 book, but I really liked what I read! I’m so happy I finally read the “emo book” – Where Are Your Boys Tonight? by Chris Payne – it was fascinating and I highly recommend it to any music fan!

Broadway Wrap Up: July 2023

I saw 12 Broadway and Off-Broadway shows in July! I actually have no idea how I saw so many shows this month, I spent my weekends seeing shows!

This was a month of catching shows before they closed, such as Life of Pi and Camelot. Of experiencing new shows like Gatsby: Immersive and seeing a local production of Rent! Of seeing 2 different productions of Moulin Rouge in 2 cities LOL!

Wrap Up: June 2023

June, why did you have to go so quickly?! June was an amazing month and I was non-stop, I barely had time to breath let alone read! I traveled to Chicago for 5 days and it’s one of my favorite cities~

I attended 5 concerts and saw 8 Broadway shows.

I only read 3 books this month, and DNF-ed 1 book. It’s not a lot, but I finally started the Shades of Magic series so I think that counts for a lot!

Broadway Wrap Up: June 2023

I saw 8 Broadway and Off-Broadway shows in June! I was impressed I saw so many this month considering I spent 4 days in Chicago, and had 5 concerts this month! I’m fully in summer concert mode so Broadway takes a bit of a backseat, but there’s still shows I want to see~

My favorite part was seeing so many NEW shows in June! I saw the first preview of Here Lies Love, Light in the Piazza, and first preview of Back to the Future. AND I saw Personality: The Lloyd Price Musical in Chicago!
