‘Shucked’ & Album Release Party @ Nederlander Theatre: NYC (6/4/23)

I didn’t think I’d be walking on a second Broadway stage this year, but here we are!

The short version: I saw Shucked for a matinee, and attended their ~Album Release Party~ in the evening thanks to Show-Score! That included a musical performance of songs that never made it into the show, jokes that were cut, complimentary drinks & snacks, and having a photo op on stage! (It was also supposed to include a signed album, but they ran out……..)

‘Some Like it Hot’ @ Shubert Theatre: NYC (4/12/23)

Wednesday nights are for seeing Some Like it Hot! I had been putting off seeing this show, I wasn’t in a hurry and it wasn’t going anywhere, but a lotto win and not having seen a show in week (lol) convinced me it was time to see Some Like it Hot… and I’m so glad I did! This show was SO MUCH FUN!

‘Shucked’ OPENING NIGHT @ Nederlander Theatre: NYC (4/4/23)

The CORN SHOW on Broadway has officially opened and I’m thrilled to have been in attendance for opening night of Shucked! This was my second time seeing it and yes, it *is* even funnier the second time around!

‘New York, New York’ @ St. James Theatre: NYC (4/1/23)

Saturday evening show was another new one – New York, New York! I was able to grab rush tickets in the morning. They were Orchestra Row G, but to the farrrr left so technically partial view. But for $30, hey, I’ll take it!

‘Parade’ @ Jacobs Theatre: NYC (4/1/23)

When trying to get rush or standing room tickets day of show, always have a plan B. Parade happened to be my Plan B and I’m so glad I finally saw this show! They weren’t sold out enough to do standing room, so we bought $69 mezz seats and the view wasn’t bad.

‘Moulin Rouge’ @ Al Hirschfeld Theatre: NYC (3/11/23)

For Saturday evening, I had no shows planned, I lost all the lotteries, most shows were out of rush already by the afternoon, so I figured I’d try standing room for a show. I was between Moulin Rouge and Parade and something in my gut told me to try for Moulin Rouge, and thankfully I was able to get standing room! (And a good thing too, since Saturday night’s performance of Parade ended up getting canceled due to technical difficulties.)

On the road to Hell there was a railroad line… Another trip to the underworld to see Hadestown! When the Hadestown lottery says you win, I accept that win and go see this show again. This was my 7th time seeing it since 2019 – pretty good stats!
