This book was first published in 2009 and republished in June 2022. I only recently discovered this and I absolutely love Jason Reynolds (and am growing to love Jason Griffin!), so of course I had to pick up this book about both of the Jasons!

Even if you aren’t familiar with his music, he has one heck of a story to tell about his 39 years of life so far.

This is something a little different from what I usually review, but I wanted to bring attention to this book, On Juneteenth. I freely admit that I knew next to nothing about Juneteenth before reading this book. I can’t recall ever learning about it in school and while I’ve heard the term in more recent years, I still didn’t fully understand what Juneteenth celebrated – this book helped explain that.
