Thanks to the author hosting a readalong, I finally decided to dive into the Shades of Magic series! I’ve read other V.E. Schwab books, but I’ve kept putting off this series…but no more! And I’m so glad I finally read it – I really enjoyed it and I finally understand the hype and love for it.

It’s only March but I already found one of my favorite books of 2023.
I’m a longtime fan of Rebecca’s writing, and not to be dramatic, but I truly think Divine Rivals is her best YA novel to date. Her world building abilities are incredibly strong and this world is built from the ground up.

This book has been on my TBR for literal years – I actually read Alix E. Harrow’s Fractured Fables series (A Spindle Splintered and A Mirror Mended) first but always wanted to go back to this one.
