Our Crooked Hearts is my first novel I’ve read by Melissa Albert – I’ve seen The Hazel Wood around, but never picked it up, so I figured I’d start with her latest novel! This is a witchy mystery novel told in both the present (Ivy) and the past (her mom, Dana) and is perfect for the spooky season!

‘Between the Lines’ by Jodi Picoult and Samantha Van Leer – Audiobook Review

After seeing the off-Broadway musical Between the Lines, I knew I wanted to read the novel it’s based off of – sometimes you enjoy an adaptation but not the original source material as much, but I’m glad to say that’s not the case here! I loved the novel just as much as the musical, it’s incredibly wholesome and feel good.

‘Long Live the Pumpkin Queen’ by Shea Ernshaw – Audiobook Review

Long Live The Pumpkin Queen is a sequel novel to The Nightmare Before Christmas, telling what happens after Jack and Sally are married – and how Sally handles the transition to Queen. This story was cute, but definitely reads more like a children’s book or low middle grade story rather than a YA story – and there’s nothing wrong with that! It is based off of a Disney movie, after all! Just be aware of that going into this.

‘Groupies’ by Sarah Priscus – Audiobook Review

There are two types of book I love above all else – historical fiction and books that involve music. You tell me a story is about music in the 1970s? I’m immediately sold! I loved this story, as I knew I would.

‘These Twisted Bonds’ by Lexi Ryan – Audiobook Review

These Twisted Bonds is the sequel to These Hollow Vows – a faerie story I very much enjoyed. I even reread These Hollow Vows to ready myself for the sequel and I’m glad I did, since there was so much I had forgotten and These Twisted Bonds picks up right where the first book ended.

Spoilers for These Hollow Vows! Don’t read this if you haven’t read the first book!
