Currently Reading
Currently listening to Not Good For Maidens – I started listening to an advanced copy via Netgalley Shelf app and I thought this came out next week, but it came out yesterday, June 21, whoops! I had hoped to finish this before release date but oh well, almost done and really enjoying this one. I also loved The Devil Makes Three, so I think I found a new favorite author with Tori Bovalino.
Recently Finished
I finished Hotel Magnifique last week – it’s marketed as Caraval meets Night Circus which I feel is accurate, but I also feel like that hurt this book – as I couldn’t think of anything except those two stories and this one didn’t feel original at all. By all means I should have liked this book, and it was okay, I finished it, but I didn’t love it. I’ll have a full review up on the blog on Friday.
I like to switch genres between reads so I went with a romance next with Fool Me Once. I remember I saw someone recommend this on Instagram and I wish I could remember who it was, because I will never be taking their recs again lol.
I DNF-ed this, and the 62% of this story I read made my skin crawl. I gave it a chance. I thought it might get better. (Narrator: It did not get better.) I was ready to move on from this one!
Reading Next
I think I’m going to read Wicked Beauty next – I’ve been loving Katee Robert’s Dark Olympus series and this one just came out – and I’m ready for another romance read! Summer always makes me want to read romance!
